Is trident sugar free gum bad for a diet/Weight Loss?
I’m keeping myself on a diet from no lower than 110 pounds and no higher than 120 *as for my weight and height right now*. I chew trident sugar free gum every day and Exercise every day. Some days ill do more exercise than others. Is trident gum *sugar free* bad for your weight loss, diet, health, teeth?
No. I hope your planned weight is healthy for your height, you didn’t share how tall you are! If it is, it sounds like you are on the right track, although you want to make sure you are alternating the type of exercise you do-don’t work the same groups of muscles every day, they’ll burn out and you’ll hurt yourself.
But Trident Sugar Free gum is not bad for weight loss. It’s actually ADA approved-most of it, you need to check each package though! It is “good” for your teeth, in that chewing gum acts sort of like brushing (NOT a replacement!) if you chew it after eating. Each stick of gum is less than 5 calories, and honestly you do not need to worry about the calories that come from sugar free gum. However, many different types of sugar free gum and candy (including Trident) include a chemical called Xylitol that they use as a sugar substitute, and this can sometimes cause diarrhea, though not often. You should be fine chewing it!

Aside from non-melanoma skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. In Hispanic women, breast cancer is the number one cause of cancer death. Many studies have linked post-diagnosis weight gain to a greater risk of recurrence and death (Chlebowski, Aiello, McTiernan, 2002). Helping breast cancer patients maintain a healthy weight with behavior change interventions may contribute to better health during survivorship. Health behavior change aimed at a lifestyle that consists of maintaining a plant-based diet with greater levels of physical activity may contribute to improved survival after a diagnosis of breast cancer (Rock & Demark-Wahnefried, 2005). The Women’s Healthy Eating and Living (WHEL) study and the Women’s Intervention Nutrition Study (WINS) (Pierce, Natarajan & Caan, 2007; Chlebowski, Blackburn & Thomson, 2007) are examples of studies that found that both a healthy living had a significant improvement in disease-free survival. A multidisciplinary approach to weight management can provide patients with breast cancer support in avoiding weight gain or achieving clinically appropriate weight loss. The purpose of this study will be to collaborate with a clinical nutritionist and exercise specialist to create a two-day group workshop for women with a diagnosis of breast cancer that will address the biopsychosocial aspects of weight management in the context of cancer survivorship. The Women’s Healthy Eating and Living (WHEL) study and the Women’s Intervention Nutrition Study (WINS) (Pierce, Natarajan & Caan, 2007; Chlebowski, Blackburn & Thomson, 2007) are examples of studies that found that both a healthy living had a significant improvement in disease-free survival. A multidisciplinary approach to weight management can provide patients with breast cancer support in avoiding weight gain or achieving clinically appropriate weight loss. The purpose of this study will be to collaborate with a clinical nutritionist and exercise specialist to create a two-day group workshop for women with a diagnosis of breast cancer that will address the biopsychosocial aspects of weight management in the context of cancer survivorship. This will allow for emotional support, an exchange of up to date information on diet and physical activity, as well as to build confidence. Participants were recruited from a hospital-based weight management clinic. Inasmuch as acceptance is the basis for effective intervention programs, an understanding of adolescent and parental perspectives about obesity treatments in required to inform future weight loss program strategies. Results indicated that across informants (parents and children, boys and girls) gastric banding surgery and weight loss pills were perceived as less acceptable forms of treatment than diet, exercise, and family behavior therapy. Of the 18 CLA positive cultures, the cheese isolate 4b (Lactococcus lactis) produced highest (1.12 g/100g FA) CLA that was then evaluated as a starter. Another cheese isolate 11a (Lactobacillus sp.) produced 0.63 g CLA/100g FA that was then evaluated as an adjunct culture. Prior to actual cheese making trials, these cultures in combination with another CLA positive Lactobacillus helveticus (ATCC 15807) were evaluated for their suitability to manufacture Cheddar cheese by cheese slurry method for a short ripening period of 5 days at 37°C. Recently, we showed that a saturated-fat rich hypocaloric CRD significantly reduced serum content of saturated fatty acids (SFA) and significantly increased arachidonic acid (AA) and the omega-6/omega-3 polyunsaturated (PUFA) ratio while significantly decreasing inflammation compared to a low-fat diet. This disconnect between dietary and circulating lipid lead us to explore how varying the fat composition of a CRD affects these variables, in addition to oxidative stress. Methods. Eight healthy weight-stable men (age 45 +/- 7.9 y, body fat 28.4 +/- 6.5%) were fed two eucaloric CRD varying in saturated fat and unsaturated fat with the same macronutrient distribution (12%en carbohydrate, 30%en protein, 58%en fat, 850 mg cholesterol) for 6 weeks each without weight loss. Similar foods were fed but CRD-SFA emphasized dairy fat while CRD-UFA emphasized olive oil, omega-3 fortified eggs, salmon, and walnuts. CRD-SFA provided almost twice as much SFA (86 g vs 47 g) and less monounsaturated fat (MUFA) and omega-6 and omega-3 PUFA than CRD-UFA, confirmed by chemical analysis. Fasting blood and 24 hr urine was analyzed at baseline and following each diet for fasting lipoproteins, insulin, glucose, inflammatory markers, fatty acid composition in plasma triacylglycerides (TAG), phospholipids (PL) and cholesteryl esters (CE), and urine 8-iso PGF2alpha. Results. Regardless of fat quality, both CRD significantly decreased TAG and insulin, and increased HDL-C and LDL particle size (P < 0.05). Despite increased total-cholesterol (TC) and LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) after CRD-SFA, the TC/LDL-C ratio was not different between diets.
